SEND News update for July 2021

Welcome to the SEND Newsletter for July 2021, this is the last newsletter before the Summer Holidays!

Thank you to everyone who attended the SENCo Network meeting last week and provided the feedback for us to plan further dates and themes for the sessions starting in September. Save the dates will be sent in September.

Once again, SIS will be providing summer support for children and young people with sensory impairments over the summer holidays. Please take a look to see how summer schools can access this support.

Dates have been released for the relaunch of the AET Training, information is provided on how your school can sign up for an ASC Lead, what impact this can have in your school and the next steps. Please take a look at the article to find out how to sign up for the course dates in the new term.

If you get the chance, please can I encourage you to complete the consultation survey for the draft Co-production Charter - your views are important! In the autumn term we will be launching the charter and looking at how schools can ‘sign up’ to the charter principles so that everyone can work together effectively.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work and support over the past year, it has presented its challenges but we have successfully managed to work together to support the children and young people in Telford & Wrekin.

I am sure that you will enjoy your summer break and I look forward to working with you and hopefully visiting you in the new academic year.

Best wishes

Natalie Bevan
