Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan
Most children and young people (CYP) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) will have their needs met in local mainstream settings through SEND Support (inclusive provision).
Educational settings will identify, assess and review how they meet special educational needs. Some CYP may not make expected progress, in these cases, schools or parent carers may consider requesting an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) which may lead to an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) being issued.
In the first instance, we would advise parent carers to meet with the SENCo/ keyworker at the CYP’s education setting to discuss the current inclusive support in place.
