Learning Support Advisory Team (LSAT)

Information for parent carers

The Learning Support Advisory Team (LSAT) in Telford plays a crucial role in supporting schools to raise the attainment of children and young people with special educational needs. This team works collaboratively with school staff, parents, and other professionals to create inclusive learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of students.

Who are we?

The team is made up of a Team Lead and five LSATs. Every member of the team is a qualified teacher, and all have extensive experience in SEND.

What do we do?

The LSAT service provides advice, training, and practical strategies to create inclusive classrooms where all learners feel supported. We offer two levels of support: a core offer, which is funded centrally and available to all schools, focusing on whole-school training, early intervention, and strengthening inclusive practice; and a traded offer, which schools can purchase for more tailored, child-specific support such as detailed assessments, bespoke guidance, and additional training. This approach ensures that every school benefits from essential SEND expertise while still allowing flexibility for personalised support when needed.

Who can access the service?

All schools within Telford and Wrekin can access the core offer and can purchase additional sessions through our traded offer.
