All Shropshire Mobility

We are a family run garage based near Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Set up in 2001 by Martin and Heather Davies. Martin left school in 1989 and carried out a four year apprenticeship and has been a mechanic ever since.

As well as repairing and servicing cars, we have been a Ricon tail lift dealer in Shropshire for over five years. We also offer after sales service and repairs for all Ricon products. We have achieved Motability Accreditation and install driving adaptations to vehicles on the Motability Scheme and for private customers.

Children and Young People’s Wheelchair Services

Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group and Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group are responsible for ensuring local wheelchair services meet the needs of those requiring to access them.

Please complete this questionnaire with your son/daughter to help us develop patient centred outcomes measures in relation to wheelchair services. Patient centred outcomes measures are about putting patients, their families and carers at the heart of deciding which goals are most valuable, rather than health professionals deciding what is best.

Disabled Holiday Information (DHI)

Welcome to the home page for DHI. This website has been designed to give travellers with all disabilities and mobility issues (not just wheelchair users) appropriate information on accessible holiday accommodation, attractions, activities and trails, enabling a choice of suitable accessible holidays bearing in mind individual needs. We hope that you find it useful when you are planning holidays, a short break away or a day out.

Outreach Pedestrian Coaching

There will be at least 1 qualified, D.B.S.’d, first aid trained, Road Safety Coach in attendance, with an assistant if needed.
A session normally takes about 1 hour.
The session is bespoke to the local environment and the particular needs of the clients. Before each session an evaluation is made of the client’s current knowledge of good pedestrian behaviour typical evaluation would be:

1. The Green Cross Code
2. The safest place to cross
3. How near to the kerb should you stand before crossing
4. A typical road sign
5. A typical feature

A typical route is chosen for the obstacles and risks that the client would expect to encounter and is risk assessed. The coach is experienced with working with clients with a wide range of issues, generally if the client is living at least semi independently in the community then they should be suitable for pedestrian/street-craft coaching . Most suitable for those with knowledge problems; confidence issues; mild learning difficulties; moderate autism; speech and/or language difficulties. After each session an evaluation of the client’s knowledge is taken again to assess efficacy.
Ideally give at least 2 sessions for each client and possibly more where required. Small groups are fine but individual risk will be taken into account. Clients who are likely to disrupt the learning of others must be seen singularly. For 2 sessions costs £53 where 1 coach is used.
